A brief description of koi

Koi are beautiful ornamental Japanese carp sometimes referred to as "giant goldfish." This description is inaccurate since koi are a completely different species of fish than goldfish. Koi are scientifically known as "cyprinus carpio" commonly called "common carp". They come in many colors and different patterns, all with their own names.
