Financial District

The financial district is a well-known neighborhood where the New York Stock exchange and the American Stock exchange takes place. The neighborhood is considered a destination for traders and office workers. Wall Street is located in the Financial District. The whole economy of the United States is dependent on the American exchange, which is located in the financial district. The financial district is a beautiful place to learn partial history of the United States. The inauguration of President George Washington was taken place in the Federal Hall National Memorial, which is located in the heart of the financial district. Drama occurred in the Financial district because of the 9/11 attacks. It was very unfortunate that the “twin towers” collapsed destroying a section of the financial district. However, the financial district is renovated with many optimistic workers who are searching for the best of finance and business. This is a place purely known for business. Money is the theme in the Financial District.


City Hall

New York City Hall was built by John McComb Jr. and Joseph Francois Mangin. It is located at the center of City Hall Park in the civic center section of lower Manhattan between Broadway, Park Row and Chambers street. This building is one of the finest built buildings in Downtown, New York and the oldest City Hall in the United States. This building houses its original governmental functions, such as the office of the Mayor of New York City (currently housed by Mayor Bloomberg) and the chambers of the New York City council. The architectural style of this particular building is French Renaissance (exterior design) and Georgian (interior design). New York City Hall is located near City Hall Park, which is another tourist place in Downtown, New York.


City Hall Park

Located between Broadway, Park Row and Chambers street, City Hall Park is surrounded by centuries-old majestic government buildings that date back to 1812, and it is a very-well acknowledged place for enthusiastic people. This park provides people with relaxation, tranquillest, and joy. City Hall Park is a tourist place for people and bicyclists. Bicyclists can pass through City Hall Park to lead them to the Brooklyn bridge. This park provides a much-needed green spot in a bustling Downtown area.


Brooklyn Bridge

The Brooklyn bridge is one of the oldest suspension bridges in the United States, and it stretches 5,989 feet (1825mi) over the east river, connecting the New York City boroughs of Downtown, Manhattan and Brooklyn on Long Island. This bridge was designed and built by John Augustus Roebling. The construction of the bridge was terminated and opened an May 24, 1883. This is a great place for jogging, walking, roller skating, and bicycling. People use this bridge primarily to commute from Brooklyn to Manhattan. The Brooklyn bridge is categorized as one of the most touristy place in Downtown, New York.


Battery Park

Battery Park is a 25-acre public park located at the Battery, the southern tip of the New York city borough of Manhattan, facing New York Harbor. In 1855, Castle Garden, situated inside the park, became the world’s first immigrant depot. Millions of newcomers arrived at Battery Park from Europe and elsewhere. Its beautiful waterfront and flower gardens make Battery Park a lovely place to wonder.
