Personal Note

Hi!  My name is Danielle Frank and I am a sophomore at Pace University.  This web page has been created for my Learning Community which is taught by Dr. Driver and Dr. Reagin.  The name of the course is Meanings and Models of Motherhood in European History.   I have been working on this web page since the beginning of the semester.  Each student was supposed to chose a topic that was relevant to the class and write a Literature paper about the topic.  After a few weeks, each student was supposed to write a History paper that was relevant to the topic.  After completing both papers, each student was supposed to copy them to a web page.  The web page is the final portion of the project.  I chose to do my papers and web page on motherhood during slavery.  I found this topic to be extremely interesting because I felt not much was known about how a mother, and how a woman, survived slavery.  After researching, I have come to realize that every mother and woman who overcame slavery is amazing.  Now that all of my research is complete, I hope that everyone who views this web page will understand what I have come to understand.  The women who lived through the period were strong, courageous, and determined to survive.  Each and every woman who lived then deserves the utmost respect and credit.  I personally could never imagine what it must have been like for the women of the time.  To end, I must say that I really enjoyed all aspects of this project.  I learned so much more than I thought possible, and I hope that everyone can benefit from this project.  Thanks for taking the time to check this out!  If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to email me by clicking on the link below!  Ciao!
