The Pace Computer Society
is an organization that is committed to promote interest in
technology among Pace University students. The society has four main goals. They
are as follows:
|
1. |
Promote an increase interest
and knowledge of the languages, design, development, management, and
applications of modern computing. |
|
2. |
Provide educational
opportunities for students having an interest in the advanced technology of
computers and its applications in business. |
|
3. |
Provide information to
students on the Career Opportunities in the Computer Systems field.
|
|
4. |
Encourage student
participation at Pace University and other interested individuals in the
Pace University Community. |
The society has transformed
itself from just organizing events to being a service-oriented society. In order
for the society to be able to accomplish its goals and serve the Pace Community,
four main committees were established. They are the Website, Programming,
Special Events, and Tutoring committees.
The Website committee's goal is
to manage our website, publish the work of students, and help other individuals
who would like to make their presence felt on the web through website
developments.
The Programming committee is
designed to promote an increase interest in languages, development, and also to
take part in outside contests like the one organized by
ACM.
The Special Events and
Fundraising committee's aim is to promote the society among the student body,
and also to take care of the organization of the society's events.
The Tutoring committee's aim is
to tutor students in the various courses that are offered at Pace University, as
well as topics that are not currently being offered.
The society is committed to
offer these services to Pace University students, so as to prepare them for the
challenges ahead.
