Who's Who 2008-2009
The Student Government Association (SGA) is a
service organization run by and for students.
The SGA is also the umbrella organization that
all other student organizations (who are funded
by the Student Activities Fund) fall under.
The Executive Board serves as the executive
branch of SGA as it carries out the will of the
Senate and enforces the laws of the SGA.
The Cabinet is composed of one representative
from the four committees of SGA.
The Senate is comprised of each constituency of
undergraduate students including the five
undergraduate schools of Pace, the four undergraduate
classes, 2 student organization representatives (Student Organization
Ambassadors).
Together, the Cabinet and the
Senate is primary governing and ruling body of
the Student Government Association.
The association works closely with the Center
for Student Development and Campus
Activities-New York City campus (SDACA), the New
York City Campus Dean for Students office, Pace
faculty, staff, and administration to coordinate
and improve all aspects of Pace student life.
SGA members participate on University committees
(like
Board of Trustees
committees, University administrative
committees, and ad-hoc committees like committee
searches for new University hires), assist with
student orientations, joint talks with members
of the
New York City Campus
Faculty Council, and sponsor several
professional and social functions throughout the
year. In addition, the SGA President and SGA
delegates serve as liaisons to the Pace
administration. At the national level, SGA is a
member of the
American Student
Government Association (ASGA).
