Each year the CFA Institute sponsors the Research Challenge, whose local round is hosted by the New York Society of Security Analysts (NYSSA) in January/February. The challenge consists of valuing the stock of a public company selected by NYSSA. The winning local team advances to compete against teams within their geographical region, and ultimately to compete against teams from across the world.
Pace has had a long tradition in participating in the CFA Institute Research Challenge every year. In order to select the Pace team, each year the Lubin School of Business organizes the Pace Equity Research Competition (PERC), which is designed similarly to the CFA Research Challenge. PERC entails valuing a public company and providing your recommendation regarding its stock, whether to buy or sell it. The performance of the participating teams in PERC will be judged by a panel of finance professionals with extensive valuation expertise. Students from the winning team as well as other PERC participants with outstanding valuation and presentation skills will be invited to represent Pace University in the CFA Research Challenge.
