Q. What will the format of the final
exam and what chapters will it cover?
A. The final exam will cover Chapter 8 (Bond Valuation), Chapter 9 (Stock
Valuation), Chapter 13 (Asset Pricing/CAPM) and Chapter 15 (Options).
Chapter 16 will not be included in the exam, since you already have a
project based on Chapter 16.
There will be one media article and questions based on it (relating to
any of the issues covered in the five chapters mentioned above) (For an
example, look at Q. 4 on the Summer
2005 Final Exam for FIN 301). In addition, there will be quantitative
questions similar to the end-of-chapter
questions that have been assigned (from Chapters 8, 9, 13, 15, but
not 16). There will also be short conceptual questions based on the material
in the four chapters (For examples, look at Q. 2 on the Fall
2003 final exam for FIN 632).
There will be no definition questions.
Q. Are the exams open book or closed book?
Ans. Click here for more
information.
Q. Can I do extra work to improve my
grade?
Ans. Sorry. I believe that in order to be fair, I have to give every student
the same opportunity to do extra work. Obviously, this is not feasible.
However, on occasion I will allow you to resubmit an assignment for grade
improvement.
Q. What can I do to check my
understanding of the material and to prepare for the exams?
Ans.
Q. What do I have to study from each
chapter?
Ans. To be announced
